Google As God

The current situation with search on the net is such that Google occupies a God like position on what is relevent and what isn't. As I watch Google remove customers of mine from their index (namely hothothot.com, the second oldest ecommerce site on the net established over 10 years ago with largely the same look and feel.) I am help but feel a little angry. While I understand the need to occasionally cull the index, I don't understand why they did this. I am sure I will get a standard form letter in reply to my question. If history is any judge, such power is temporal. However Google has a serious competitive advantage, the world's largest computing platform with over 200,000 machines in a cluster. A serious barrier for anyone hoping to scale to their heights. Such a computing barrier is not easily overcome as that's a hard science problem. We will see though.
